A NOTE FROM OUR PRESIDENT
FLOT is a terrific organization and a
community treasure. It depends entirely on its
Board of Directors to keep it constantly moving
toward the achievement of its mission – to present
quality musical theater to the residents of
Fairbanks and surrounding areas. We have many
responsibilities:
1. We have productions to
support and supervise for quality
control. 2. We have a responsibility to raise
funds to finance our productions. 3. We must
market ourselves creatively, in order to attain
recognition for FLOT and sell lots and lots of
tickets. 4. We have a responsibility to
deepen the talent base of our community by offering
educational programs and community outreach
activities - like the FLOT Showcase and FLOT, Jr. 5.
We have facilities and equipment and sets, props and
costumes to store and oversee. Such a lot of
exciting work to do!
Fortunately, we have programs already
in place for most of these activities and we rely on
our wonderful volunteers who are willing to donate
time and effort to keep FLOT dynamic and to see it
move forward. This is an exciting time for us. We
are looking to the future and are
even entertaining the possibility of
building our own theatre and rehearsal area.
If you were lucky enough to attend
our last three main stage production's I’m
sure you enjoyed seeing musical theatre at its best:
THE GONDOLIERS,
THE SOUND OF MUSIC,
and MAN OF LA MANCHA.
And there is
more, for
I urge you not to miss our upcoming
Fall 2007 production of OKLAHOMA! and
SEUSSICAL THE MUSICAL in Spring 2008 .
Thank you to our many contributors
for your generosity and continued support of FLOT.
We invite you to come to our shows and share the joy
of live musical theatre with us, as an audience
member and, perhaps, as a much needed volunteer.
If you wish to serve in some way please contact us
at 456-FLOT. See you at the theatre!
