I am proud to be associated with such a fantastic organization as FLOT and honored to have been given the privilege to serve as President for the 2008 – 2009 Season! As most of you are aware FLOT has a long history of providing our community with quality musical theater productions. To accomplish this is no easy task, and has been successful in large part due to the guidance and dedication of its Board of Directors. For the past 37 years there have been several different assemblies of this board, each of which has left their mark on the successful operation of FLOT. In the beginning the service was borne of a love of, and a need for, a company to focus on producing musical theater in the interior. Since that time, FLOT has grown to a production company with several attributes that benefit not only the local musical theater community, but the theater community statewide. With the largest costume shop in the state, we are proud to assist productions from Juneau to Barrow. We are proud to have a large permanent prop and set library as well. These are all made possible by those board members and volunteers, who over time have harnessed their love of not only musical theater, but our community as well.
We are embarking on a new path now with lofty goals and high standards. In past few years FLOT has begun to upgrade the organization utilizing the technologies brought by the today’s world. Because of these we are able to better communicate with our customers, and produce a sharper final product as well. We strive to increase our business to a point where we may possibly, some day own our own facility and become the preeminent theater company in the state. This will only be possible with the continued support and involvement of those of you that love the theater as well.
